There’s a part of you that stays a few steps out in front, checking the angles, holding the plan together so nothing catches you off guard. It’s been keeping you safe for a long time, and it makes sense that it’s still working. Where in your life right now does something feel steady enough that you could loosen your grip just a little?

Honestly, I’m not sure there’s much in my life right now that feels completely steady. I’m so used to thinking ahead, preparing for what could go wrong, and trying to keep myself from being caught off guard that letting go feels almost unsafe.

But maybe I could loosen my grip a little on the things I can’t control. I don’t have to figure everything out tonight. I can let myself just exist for a minute without constantly planning my next move or worrying about what’s coming. I’m trying, even if it doesn’t always look like it from the outside. Maybe that’s the place where I can start feeling a little safer.

@chelseanicolesteadman, I struggle letting go of the things I cannot control. I’m an at-heart Fixer, and control/fixing is pretty much ingrained in my DNA. It’s being self-aware enough to stop myself from tightening my grip, allow things to flow, and the hardest part – being okay with all of it! Thanks for sharing!
